The role

The Research Assistant will support the delivery of a Diabetes UK-funded research project exploring the experiences and support needs of siblings of children and young people with Type 1 Diabetes and co-developing psychoeducational resources to support families.

Working closely with the Research Fellow and under the supervision of the wider project team, the postholder will contribute to participant recruitment, survey administration, qualitative data collection, workshop delivery, data management and dissemination activities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience of mixed-methods health research, co-production approaches and research involving children, young people and families.

The successful candidate will work closely with Dr Jo Brooks, Dr Rhiannon Hawkes, Dr Daniela Ghio and project collaborators to deliver the study. They will join a multidisciplinary team working with healthcare professionals, public contributors, charities and community organisations to develop resources for siblings of children and young people living with Type 1 Diabetes. The project includes survey research, interviews, participatory workshops and resource development activities involving families across the UK.
