The role
You will have experience of coordinating projects and delivering programmes of events, training or work-related learning activities, with the organisational skills to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and maintain high standards of delivery.
You will be confident building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including external partners, and able to communicate effectively with different audiences both in person and online.
You will bring excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, enabling you to engage employers, alumni and academic colleagues, develop productive partnerships and encourage participation in new initiatives. A proactive, resilient and solutions-focused approach will be essential, alongside the ability to work independently, respond flexibly to changing demands and deliver an excellent service to students and colleagues.
You will also have the ability to undertake qualitative and quantitative research to evaluate activities, alongside good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience of using event or database management systems.
Knowledge of the graduate labour market, experience within higher education careers or graduate recruitment, and familiarity with creating marketing materials, newsletters or website content would be advantageous.
Above all, you will be motivated by helping students explore their career options and prepare for the world of work, with a commitment to inclusive practice, continuous improvement and UCL's Ways of Working.
"As London's Global University, we know diversity fosters creativity and innovation. We are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where we all belong.
We particularly encourage applications from candidates underrepresented in UCL's workforce, including those from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds, disabled people, and - for Grade 9 and 10 roles - women."

What you'll do
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Work Related Learning Officer to join our SLASH/IOE team on a maternity cover basis from January to December 2027. Working closely with the Work Related Learning Manager, you will help develop and deliver an engaging programme of activities that connects students with employers, alumni and the world of work.
This varied role will see you coordinate a diverse programme of experiential learning opportunities, including careers and skills workshops, employer-set projects, hackathons, networking events and employer visits. You will build and maintain relationships with academic colleagues, employers, alumni and professional bodies, while proactively identifying new opportunities to enrich our provision and respond to changing labour market trends.
You will play a key role in planning and administering activities, coordinating delivery partners, monitoring student engagement and gathering feedback to help evaluate and continuously improve the programme. You will also create engaging promotional content to drive participation across the faculties.
Working collaboratively with Careers Consultants and colleagues across UCL Careers, you will help ensure activities complement existing careers provision and respond to the diverse needs and backgrounds of our students. You will report on the outcomes of your work and support the Work Related Learning Manager in the evaluation of the programme.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible contribution to the student experience, helping UCL students develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to shape their future careers.
Please note, this is a fixed-term maternity cover role available from January - December 2027. The role offers hybrid working with a minimum of 2-days per week onsite at our Bloomsbury office (subject to change).
