What you'll get

At UCL, you will be part of a diverse and supportive community working to advance knowledge and make a positive difference to the world. We offer a range of benefits, including a competitive salary, a generous annual leave entitlement, an excellent pension scheme and access to learning and development opportunities. We recognise the importance of work-life balance and support flexible and hybrid working arrangements where appropriate to the role and service requirements. This is an opportunity to develop your experience within a world-leading research environment whilst contributing to a professional service that enables our researchers to achieve their ambitions.

The role

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and committed to delivering excellent customer service. You will bring administrative experience gained within higher education or another large or complex organisation, together with strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with a wide range of colleagues. You will be confident using IT systems, comfortable working with numerical and financial information, and able to manage competing priorities whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. You will also be someone who enjoys solving problems, takes ownership of their work and looks for opportunities to improve how things are done. Experience of research administration, grant management systems such as Worktribe, or financial systems such as Oracle would be an advantage, but is not essential. Above all, we are looking for someone who enjoys supporting others, works well as part of a team and is keen to contribute to the success of UCL's research community.

What you'll do

Are you an organised, detail-focused individual who enjoys working with people and making processes run smoothly? Would you like to play a part in supporting world-leading research that makes a difference to society? We are looking for a Research and Innovation Operations Officer to join our team at UCL. This is an opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of research and innovation activities at one of the world's leading universities. Working as part of a collaborative faculty team, you will provide essential administrative and operational support throughout the research lifecycle, helping academic colleagues navigate research funding processes, manage projects and meet important deadlines. Your work will be varied, from supporting research grant applications and maintaining accurate records to processing financial transactions, coordinating documentation and helping ensure compliance with funding requirements. You will work closely with academic staff, professional services colleagues and external partners to deliver a responsive and effective service. You will also have the opportunity to contribute ideas for improving our processes and ways of working, helping us build a more consistent and efficient research support service.
