Quality Manager - Project Delivery

Location: Manchester/Sheffield/Midlands
Salary: £50,000-£55,000 plus car
Sector: Construction

TwoScore is supporting an established and rapidly expanding construction and engineering contractor in the appointment of a Quality Manager to strengthen quality management, compliance and operational standards across a growing portfolio of construction projects.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Quality professional looking to take greater ownership of quality management systems, influence operational standards and make a genuine impact within a developing business. The position offers considerable autonomy, flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to shape and improve existing processes rather than simply maintain established systems.

The role will involve regular travel to construction sites across the UK, with flexibility to work remotely when not required on site.

The Key Responsibilities of the Quality Manager:
  • Develop, implement and maintain consistent Quality Management Systems across multiple construction projects.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management system requirements.
  • Establish and maintain quality procedures, documentation standards and reporting processes across the business.
  • Conduct site quality audits, inspections and compliance reviews, identifying non-conformances and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and improve Quality Inspection and Test Plans (QITPs), ensuring appropriate procedures are followed throughout project delivery.
  • Work closely with site management teams to establish consistent quality standards and ensure their effective implementation.
  • Support operational teams with quality inspections, testing procedures and technical documentation requirements.
  • Maintain appropriate environmental compliance documentation and records.
  • Monitor quality performance, identifying recurring defects, trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Produce quarterly quality performance reports and present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and engage with subcontractors to improve standards and reduce recurring defects.
  • Support the ongoing development and standardisation of quality management systems, templates and digital processes.
The Quality Manager will have:
  • Previous experience in a Quality Advisory, Quality Assurance or Quality Compliance role within construction or a related sector.
  • Experience working with a main contractor, civil engineering, utilities, groundworks or construction delivery environment.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001, with exposure to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 advantageous.
  • Experience conducting quality audits, identifying non-conformances and implementing corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with Quality Inspection and Test Plans (QITPs) and construction quality assurance procedures.
  • Strong documentation management skills and the ability to develop practical, consistent processes.
  • The confidence to engage with site teams, subcontractors and senior management to challenge existing practices and drive improvements.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and reporting skills.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach with the ability to work independently across multiple projects.
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to construction sites.

This position would suit an experienced Quality Advisor or Compliance Advisor looking to take their next step.
