The role

HSE Advisor - Major Energy Infrastructure Project
Contract: 12-month rolling contract
Duration: 3-4 year project programme
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £500 per day - Outside IR35
Location: Norfolk

Turner Lovell are currently recruiting for an experienced EHS Advisor to join a major energy infrastructure project in Norfolk, supporting a large-scale programme with both onshore and offshore scope.
You will join an established project safety team, working alongside multiple Safety Managers and supporting the delivery of complex engineering and construction activities across the project.
The role will provide exposure to a broad range of disciplines, including M&E fit-out, civils, HVDC and renewable energy infrastructure, making this an excellent opportunity for an EHS professional with experience across large-scale, safety-critical projects.
The successful candidate will be expected to take a hands-on and consultative approach to HSE, working closely with site teams, contractors and other stakeholders to improve standards and promote a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day EHS support and guidance to site teams and project stakeholders
  • Engage directly with site teams and contractors to promote high standards of health, safety and environmental performance
  • Conduct site inspections, audits and observations, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Review and provide guidance on RAMS and safe systems of work
  • Support the implementation of EHS procedures, initiatives and best practices
  • Monitor contractor compliance and work collaboratively to address areas for improvement
  • Participate in safety meetings, briefings and toolbox talks
  • Build strong relationships with project teams, contractors and wider stakeholders
  • Provide practical, consultative advice rather than simply focusing on policy and process
  • Support the project team in maintaining a strong and proactive safety culture

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an EHS/HSE Advisor within large-scale construction, infrastructure or energy projects
  • Experience across multiple engineering disciplines, particularly M&E fit-out and/or civils
  • Experience working on complex or safety-critical infrastructure projects
  • NEBOSH qualification
  • CSCS card
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with site teams and stakeholders
  • Practical, hands-on approach to EHS with a focus on improving standards and behaviours
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, large project environment

This is a long-term opportunity on a major UK energy infrastructure programme, with an initial contract through to the end of the year and the expectation of ongoing annual renewals as the project progresses.
