• Hold a level 2 food Hygiene qualification.

Contract: Part Time, Permanent Salary: £ 15.50 per hour Hours: 20 per week

We have a fantastic opportunity for you as General Assistant to join one of our fantastic locations in London.

You will ideally have previous experience of working within a fast-paced catering environment. The postholder will support the day-to-day operation of the catering and food service areas, including basic food preparation, preparation and set-up of service areas, operation and cleaning of coffee vending machines, serving customers, cleaning and clearing tables, stock control and general food hygiene duties.

The role will also include the safe packing and short-distance transportation of pre-prepared food, beverages and catering equipment to other locations as required. The postholder will be expected to maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, customer service, Health & Safety and professional conduct at all times.

• To support the team with serving customers, replenishing stocks, cleaning.
• Prepare all service areas for the days business relating to that meal service.
• Prepare, set-up, serve, clear, clean and store away any food, beverage or equipment required for special functions.
• Prepare basic food for sale/service, following good hygiene and safety practices and to the standard specified.
• Restock and replenish stocks and consumables as required during service periods, pre-empt customer needs and achieve optimum customer service delivery.
• Empty, remove and store rubbish / recycle rubbish in the correct place.
• Be prepared to occasionally work evening and/or weekend for functions and school events.
• Ensuring company food standards are adhered to and wastage controlled.
• Ensuring all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed.
• Pack pre-prepared food, beverages, catering equipment and associated service items securely and appropriately for transportation.
• Ensure food is packed and handled in accordance with company food safety, hygiene and transportation procedures.
• Transport pre-prepared food and other catering items safely to locations a short distance from the main location, within the required timeframe.
• Ensure that food, beverages and equipment are securely loaded before transportation and safely unloaded on arrival.
• Assist with the set-up of food, beverages and catering equipment at the destination as required.
• Ensure that food remains appropriately protected and handled throughout the transportation process.
• Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of any vehicle used for work-related transportation and report any damage, faults or safety concerns promptly to the manager.
• Hold and maintain a full, clean and valid UK driving licence and be able to drive safely and responsibly for authorised work purposes.
• Comply with all applicable road traffic legislation, company driving procedures, Health & Safety requirements and instructions relating to work-related driving.
• Notify management promptly of any change to driving licence status, endorsements, restrictions or other circumstances that may affect the ability to undertake work-related driving.
• The company will provide appropriate business-use insurance cover for authorised work-related driving, subject to the company's insurance policy and applicable terms and conditions.
