The role

Warehouse Supervisor - Cotswold Home Delivery
Lichfield · Full time · Reporting to the Depot Manager ·

About us
At The Cotswold Company, we make beautiful, well-made furniture for homes across the UK, and every piece comes with a 15-year guarantee. We're a B-Corp, and we care about how we work as much as what we make. Our home delivery team is often the last people to handle a piece before it reaches a customer's home, so the care we take here really matters.

The role
You'll lead the day-to-day running of our home delivery warehouse. You'll keep the team safe and organised, and make sure every vehicle leaves accurately loaded, on time and with no damage. You'll stay hands-on, setting the standard on the floor, and you'll also coach and develop the people around you.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading the team: planning shifts, allocating work and running daily briefings. You'll be a calm, approachable presence people can come to.
  • Owning health and safety on site: carrying out checks, raising and resolving concerns, and making sure everyone works safely.
  • Making sure every route is right: checking that orders are picked, sorted into lanes, loaded and strapped correctly before the morning driver shift.
  • Driving quality: cutting damage and errors, checking inbound stock, and acting on discrepancies quickly.
  • Managing returns and internal deliveries: making sure they're processed properly and on time.
  • Developing your team: running performance reviews, giving feedback, and helping people grow.
  • Bringing ideas: suggesting and leading continuous improvement, and keeping housekeeping standards high.
  • Reporting to your Depot Manager: sharing performance, issues and opportunities.

What we're looking for

  • At least 3 years in a warehouse, ideally with some team leading or supervising. You might be a senior operative ready for your next step.
  • Vehicle loading experience and a good eye for detail.
  • A counterbalance FLT licence.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence, held for at least 12 months.
  • Confidence with systems, processes and basic IT, such as Excel and Word.
  • A calm, fair leadership style that brings people with you.

It would be lovely if you also have

  • Experience in furniture or home delivery
  • A supervisory H&S qualification, such as IOSH Managing Safely
  • Quality control experience
