Head of Credit Control

Join us as Head of Credit Control and help shape how we manage credit risk, collect payments and keep cash flowing. You’ll support your team to grow, find better ways of working and build strong relationships with colleagues and clients. Along the way, you’ll balance effective credit management with a positive experience for our clients.

You'll oversee the Credit Control function ensuring:

• Cash is allocated on a daily basis and the cash received is reported to the business daily
• Statements are sent to all clients on a monthly basis
• A member of the team attends each office’s debt review meetings
• Debt exposures are monitored and escalated as required
• Take the lead on capturing information on all customer portals, ensuring Finance has access and ensuring the business is following the required procedures to upload invoices correctly
• Oversee the reporting of debt levels and leading the monthly debt review meeting with the CFO
• Calculates the year end aged debt provision and monitors the level of provision periodically

You'll work closely with teams across Ridge to improve debt management and support consistent ways of working by:

• Championing best practice and encourage high standards of work and service to the business to match Ridge core values
• Providing challenge to the Partners on debt levels and billing practices
• Ensuring agreed policies and processes are adhered to and proactively developed to meet the needs of the business as it transitions through growth.
• Providing support and guidance to the business including induction training when required
• Develop the relationship with key customers, own the portals and take the debt chasing off the teams in certain high challenge cases.

• Developing a robust credit control policy and provide training to the business
• Support the design and implementation of the new contract and billing engine in D365 (migrating from Workspace in 2026/27)
• Liaising with IT to maintain the configuration of the D365 accounting system
• Overseeing the testing process for routine system updates

• Leading the team of 4 staff providing direction, support and mentoring.
• Ensuring annual reviews are performed along with ongoing with mid-year progress reviews
• Monitoring workloads and re-directing resource throughout the month to ensure all tasks are completed.
• Assessing staffing requirements to ensure the team are appropriately staffed to cope with growth

• Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM) qualified with 2 years+ post qualification experience
• Can demonstrate a proactive approach to team and process development
• Experience of working with client payment portals, ideally within the construction industry
• A positive and strong ‘can do’ attitude
• The ability to bring fresh ideas
• Great communications skills, both verbally and written
• Attention to detail
• Team player and keen to be visible to the team and wider finance function
• Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics F&O preferable or experience of similar ERP systems
• A strong working knowledge of Excel
