The role
Queen Mary University of London is seeking a Research Assistant to support the AI Moments in Teaching research project, led by Professor Chie Adachi. This part-time, fixed-term role involves approximately 60 hours of work for three months and offers an opportunity to contribute to research exploring how educators engage with artificial intelligence in teaching and learning.
Working with a multidisciplinary research team, you will help deliver key research activities, including administering online surveys and organising semi-structured interviews. Responsibilities include liaising with participants, coordinating project activities, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with research ethics and data protection requirements. You will also support qualitative data analysis and contribute to project outputs, with potential opportunities to assist with reports and publications.
About the Role
**INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY**
About You
You will have experience of qualitative research methods, including conducting or supporting interviews and surveys, alongside a good understanding of research processes and data management. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential.
Applicants should be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and ideally be studying for, nearing completion of, or have completed a PhD, or possess equivalent research experience. Excellent communication skills, experience managing research data, and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively are important. Experience of qualitative data analysis, report writing, or contributing to research publications would be advantageous.
Working hours are flexible and most activities can be undertaken remotely, making this role particularly suitable for doctoral researchers or those seeking part-time research experience. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced researchers on a project examining the impact of AI in education, with potential opportunities for co-authorship on future publications depending on contribution and experience.
