Are you a Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant or Similar looking for a term-time role where you can help shape a growing alternative learning provision in Bristol?
Can you use your own interests, skills and experience to connect with children and young people who need a different approach to learning?
We are expanding our Alternative Learning Provision into Bristol and are looking for committed Learning Mentors to help establish and grow the service. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team, contribute your ideas and develop your career as the provision expands.
Working with children and young people aged 4-25, you will build trusting relationships and help learners overcome barriers to education. You will work 1:1 and in small groups, using creative activities and your own interests to support confidence, engagement and independence.
This role would suit someone who is patient, reliable and looking to make a lasting contribution to a growing service. We are particularly interested in people who are comfortable working across different age groups, although experience or an interest in a particular age range is also welcome.
Support our youngest learners through play-based and structured activities, helping them develop communication, engagement and emotional regulation in a nurturing environment.
Support older learners as they prepare for adulthood, including Functional Skills, work placements and transitions into college or employment. There will also be opportunities to contribute to partnerships with other organisations.
Work with learners aged 4-25, both onsite and in the community, building strong relationships, maintaining consistent boundaries and supporting their next steps.
You will support learners from across Bristol, including collecting them from home or school and working with them in their local community.
Initially, you should be prepared to travel with learners to our existing provision at The Grange in West Hewish, North Somerset, potentially daily depending on their arrangements. You will also attend The Grange for training and to get to know the wider team while we develop our Bristol provision and explore options for a local base.
Mileage is paid at 45p per mile from your first learner pickup.
You will receive support from experienced Lead Learning Mentors, join a welcoming team and have opportunities to develop into a leadership role as the service grows.
