The role

Summary
As our Community, Participation & Volunteer Co-Ordinator, you will champion the value of engagement, support the team to co-ordinate activities, and help grow and diversify opportunities so more people can get involved. This is a varied role that requires excellent organisational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving and strong relationship management skills.
You'll be required to work some weekends.
While not currently required, this role may be subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check in the future.
What it's like to work here
Oxburgh is part of a larger portfolio of properties which includes Felbrigg and Peckover House & Garden. You'll report into the Property Operations Manager as part of the Operations team at Oxburgh and part of the wider team of 20+ members across Gardens, House and Commercial teams. Part of your role will be engaging with groups in our local community to develop partnerships and strong working relationships.
The role will require weekend working and you'll be expected to carry out Duty Manager responsibilities as part of your role. As a duty manager, you'll be responsible on the day for the smooth running of the property during opening hours, acting as the main contact point for staff, volunteers, and customers in case of emergency, enquiry or complaint
What you'll be doing
Supporting our community engagement and volunteering work, you'll be putting people at the centre of our plans. You'll build strong partnerships, create inclusive volunteering opportunities, support and value our many volunteers, and encourage community led activities that help restore nature.
You'll support colleagues, champion best practice, and ensure our systems and data are well managed. You'll work to remove barriers to participation, ensuring underrepresented voices are heard and actively involved.
You'll also look to build collaborations and partnerships within our community by creating and supporting opportunities for people to share time and skills, actively supporting community, partner led or independent activities.

  • a strong understanding of community engagement, participatory practice, and volunteer innovation
  • experience in increasing community participation and developing inclusive opportunities
  • experience managing and supporting a team of people
