The role

As a Senior Accountant in Southampton, you'll handle key financial tasks to keep the accounting and finance department running smoothly. Your role will focus on ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting business operations within the professional services industry.

What you'll do

Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
Manage general ledger activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.
Oversee tax compliance and liaise with external auditors as required.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes to assist in financial planning.
Maintain accurate records and ensure adherence to accounting standards.
Collaborate with colleagues in the accounting and finance department to optimise processes.
Assist in implementing financial policies and procedures.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Senior Accountant should have:

Strong experience in financial reporting and analysis within the professional services industry.
A solid understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
Proficiency with accounting software and tools.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
A professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
The ability to work effectively in a team and communicate financial information clearly.
