The role

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting and effective business partnering across the organisation. This is a highly visible leadership role combining financial control, team management, commercial insight and process improvement within a dynamic and fast-moving environment.

What you'll do

Manage the day-to-day financial control activities for the Accounting & Finance department, ensuring records are complete and reliable.
Prepare accurate financial reports that give clear visibility of business performance.
Apply practical knowledge of FRS 102 when producing and reviewing financial information.
Maintain strong accounting processes to support consistent and timely reporting.
Review financial data, identify issues and take action to improve accuracy.
Work closely with relevant colleagues to provide clear financial insight for business decisions.
Oversee the preparation of financial information for internal use, keeping deadlines on track.
Ensure accounting activity is carried out in line with recognised financial reporting requirements.
Lead and develop the finance team, driving performance and continuous improvement

The Successful Applicant

A successful 'Financial Controller' should have:

Full qualification with active membership of ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
Post-qualification experience within a busy accounting environment.
In-depth practical knowledge of FRS 102.
Strong experience of financial control and financial reporting.
The ability to review financial information carefully and resolve issues accurately.
Confidence in managing accounting activities and meeting reporting deadlines.
