The role

Metro Rod Dundee
Location - Peterhead
Salary - £36 per hour plus overtime & benefits
Hours - up to 56 hours per week

Some people want a desk job. Some people would rather be out there solving problems, getting stuck in and doing the work that keeps businesses, homes and communities running.

That's more our thing.

At Metro Rod, we deal with the jobs most people would rather avoid. Blockages. Flooding. Drainage emergencies. The messy stuff.

And we're very good at it.

We're looking for an experienced Bulk Tanker Driver to join the team.

What you'll do

This isn't a role where every day looks the same.

It's practical, hands-on work. Sometimes it's messy. Sometimes the hours aren't particularly sociable. But when there's a problem that needs sorting, you're the person people are glad to see.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Carrying out a range of services associated with the emptying and cleaning of our customers' assets
  • Operation of High-Pressure vacuum suction equipment in line with rigorous safety standards
  • Providing an exceptional standard of customer service and technical expertise
  • Accurately recording work/job details via a range of bespoke internal/client systems and apps
  • Being part of an on-call rota to help service our clients 24/7 / 365 days a year.

THE PERSON

We're looking for someone who knows their way around a tanker, takes safety seriously and takes pride in doing a job properly.

You'll need:

  • Minimum HGV class 2 / HGV class 1 is preferred but not essential
  • Experience operating vacuum tankers
  • Knowledge of health and safety requirements relating to drainage and waste operations.
  • Experience working within the drainage, utilities, water, environmental, or wastewater industries.
  • Have a positive, flexible, can-do attitude
  • Want to be part of a growing and progressive business
  • Be willing to work some unsociable hours - Early starts, evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight work may be required.
  • Full UK driving licence

Haven't worked in drainage but know you're way around a tanker? That's not a deal-breaker. With the right attitude, we'll give you the training and support to build your specialist drainage skills.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone dependable. Someone who turns up, gets stuck in and gets the job done safely and professionally.
