SOME PEOPLE WANT A DESK JOB. THAT'S NOT REALLY OUR THING.

Some people want a desk job. Some people would rather be out there solving problems, getting stuck in and doing the work that keeps businesses, homes and communities running.

That's more our thing.

At Metro Rod, we deal with the jobs most people would rather avoid. Blockages. Flooding. Drainage emergencies. The messy stuff.

And we're very good at it.

Right now, we're looking for an experienced Drainage Repairs Engineer to join the team.

What you'll do

You'll be responsible for:

  • Installing localised structural repairs (LSRs/patch liners).
  • Reconfiguring manhole channelling and replacing manhole covers and frames.
  • Repairing or replacing slot drainage channels and gullies.
  • Completing post-repair CCTV surveys to check the quality of completed works.
  • Carrying out general excavations to repair drains and/or water mains
  • Resurfacing including concrete, tarmac, block paving, flagging
  • Replacing soil stacks and waste pipe systems
  • Supporting with reactive emergency works where required

It's practical, hands-on work. Sometimes it's messy. Sometimes the hours aren't particularly sociable.

But when there's a problem that needs sorting, you're the person people are glad to see.

THE JOB

This isn't a role where every day looks the same.

THE PERSON

We're looking for someone with hands-on experience in the repairs listed above, a practical approach to problem-solving and a commitment to high standards of workmanship.

You'll take pride in working safely, looking after customer sites and representing Metro Rod professionally.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone dependable. Someone who turns up, gets stuck in and gets the job done safely and professionally.

THE BEST PEOPLE COME FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE

We are an equal opportunities employer. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified individuals regardless of age, disability, gender identity, marriage or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.

We work hard, back our people and give them the support to build their skills and take their careers further.

Metro Rod is part of the Waste & Water Services Division of Franchise Brands, alongside Metro Plumb, Willow Pumps and Filta. Together, we provide a one-stop shop for all drainage and plumbing services across the UK.
