Are you passionate about food and looking to build on your kitchen experience in a supportive hotel environment? We're looking for a Commis Chef to join our kitchen team at Courtyard, helping us deliver high-quality food and great experiences for our guests.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with some previous kitchen experience who enjoys cooking, takes pride in their work, and wants to be part of a positive and professional team.

About the Role

This is a permanent, part-time position, working 32 hours per week over 4 days at £12.95 per hour. Shifts are primarily evenings and focused on supporting dinner service.

Key Responsibilities

Once trained and settled in, you'll be expected to confidently support the kitchen team by:

Preparing and cooking menu items in line with recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines
Supporting the smooth running of dinner service and ensuring food is delivered to a high standard
Assisting with food preparation and mise en place ahead of service
Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene, allergen awareness, and cleanliness standards
Monitoring food quality and portion control
Communicating effectively with fellow chefs and front-of-house teams during service
Assisting with kitchen cleaning duties and closing procedures
Completing food logs, temperature checks, and other required records
Supporting the wider kitchen team during busy periods

What We're Looking For

Some previous kitchen experience, whether in a restaurant, hotel, café, or similar environment is preferred
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
A strong work ethic and team-first approach
Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and across different days of the week
Passion for food quality and guest satisfaction
Someone who can remain calm and organised during busy service periods
