The role

WE'RE HIRING
Social Media Manager
Freelance · Remote (UK) · £300/day · Outside IR35
Who We Are
My client is a fast scaling, highly impactful, social media platform. They believe the dominant platforms have broken something important, and that people deserve an alternative that respects them. They're built around privacy, chronological feeds, and a hard commitment to keeping algorithmic manipulation and content interference out of the equation.
They support text, photos and video. We're growing fast. And we were founded by someone who got frustrated enough with the status quo to do something about it. They're hiring because we need people who share that frustration and have the skills and drive to help them build something better.
The Role
Looking for people with political opinions and passion. We need someone who can bring it to life every single day across three distinct but connected disciplines: channel management, community building, and creator relationships.
You'll be the connective tissue between our audience, our content, and the wider creator ecosystem we're building. That means being present, being responsive, and being genuinely invested in the people on the other side of the screen.
Channel & Content Management
  • Own day-to-day scheduling and publishing across our social channels
  • Work closely with the Social Strategist to translate strategy into on-brand, platform-native content
  • Keep a sharp eye on trends, algorithm shifts and cultural moments - and know when to move fast
  • Monitor performance, flag what's working, push back on what isn't
Community Management
  • Be the human voice of the brand in comments, DMs and conversations not a bot, not a template
  • Build genuine relationships with our audience; respond, engage, remember people
  • Identify the people in our community who are most engaged and find ways to bring them closer
  • Spot emerging conversations and cultural moments that are relevant to who we are
Creator Management
  • Identify and build relationships with creators who genuinely align with our values, not just our budget
  • Brief creators clearly, manage deliverables and keep partnerships feeling collaborative, not transactional
  • Evaluate creators on alignment and authenticity as much as reach
  • Be the go-to point of contact for creators; fair, honest, and easy to work with
Experience
  • You've worked with mission-driven, purpose-led or media/content brands
  • You have an existing network of values-aligned creators you can tap into
  • You've grown a community from scratch and have the battle scars to prove it
You Probably
  • Have 3+ years managing social channels for a brand, media outlet, or platform you believed in
  • Have hands-on experience in community management, you know what it takes to build one, not just moderate one
  • Have worked with creators or influencers and understand what good partnership looks like from both sides
  • Can write sharp, engaging copy that sounds like a human, not a press release
  • Are deeply familiar with TikTok, Instagram, YouTube Shorts and the nuances of each platform
The Practicalities
  • Freelance / contract role
  • £300per day, outside IR35
  • UK bank account required & right to Work in the UK required
How to Apply
  • Apply by the link / share your CV and a couple of sentences on why you're keen on this role.
