The role
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you'll play an important role in ensuring the people we support feel safe, comfortable and cared for overnight.
The people we support enjoy active lives during the day, and some may appreciate a friendly chat in the evening before settling down for the night. Once everyone is in bed, you'll carry out regular checks, ensuring people are comfortable and responding promptly and appropriately to any needs that arise.
Depending on individual needs, you may also provide support with medication and personal care. You'll complete light domestic tasks to help keep the home clean, tidy and ready for the day ahead.
You'll need to be observant, proactive and confident working independently, while always maintaining a respectful, person-centred approach.
How you'll work
- Wednesday: 9:30pm - 7:30am
- Thursday: 9:30pm - 7:30am
- Saturday: 10:00pm - 8:00am
About the role
Are you a caring, dependable person who wants to make a real difference? Are you looking for consistent night work where you can work independently while helping others feel safe, comfortable and supported?
We're looking for a dedicated Waking Night Support Worker to join our team in Streatham, supporting 11 adults aged 45-65 with learning disabilities.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference through the small things that matter: offering reassurance, responding to individual needs and helping create a calm, safe and welcoming home throughout the night.
What we're looking for
- We're looking for someone who is:
- Caring and respectful, with a genuine commitment to supporting others.
- Reliable and responsible, understanding the importance of consistency during night shifts.
- Calm and observant, able to recognise when someone needs support and respond appropriately.
- A good communicator and listener, helping people feel heard, valued and reassured.
- Confident working independently, while following agreed support plans and procedures.
- Committed to person-centred support, respecting each individual's needs, choices and dignity.
Make a difference every night
If you're looking for a role where your presence and actions genuinely matter, this could be the opportunity for you. You'll help create a safe and supportive home environment, providing the reassurance and care people need to feel comfortable throughout the night.
We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences. We value the different skills, perspectives and qualities that each person brings to our team.
Interested in joining us? We'd love to hear from you.
About you
Of course we welcome you if you've been a care assistant or support worker, but experience isn't essential. If you have the right attitude, good customer service skills, share our values and are willing to learn, you're likely to be a great fit. We are looking for people who celebrate differences, and we strive to make all our staff feel included, valued and respected.
We have an amazing training and induction programme, including training in positive behaviour support, all free of charge.
Learn and grow with us
Wherever you're starting from, we'll help you succeed.
You'll receive a full induction, a mix of online and face-to-face training, and mentoring from experienced colleagues while you learn the role.
