The role
Why not start a career in social care that's as rewarding as it is fun? No experience needed - just kindness, curiosity, and a sense of adventure.
Join our team in Westoning, supporting 7 amazing people with learning disabilities to live life their way. You will be helping these people with every aspect of their lives from helping with their mobility, and accessing medical care, to getting out and experiencing as much of life as possible, you will need to be imaginative and fun to enrich the lives of the people we support in a way that's individual and person centered.
This role isn't about doing things for people. It's about working alongside them: listening to what they tell us in their own unique ways, and helping them build lives filled with the things that matter most to them.
Susan and David are full of personality. They're looking for someone who will get to know them, celebrate who they are, and help them live rich, meaningful lives.
Could that be you?
How you'll work
Either 37.5, 30 or 22.5 hours per week, on a rota basis including weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.
Let Susan and David* tell you what great support looks like
Susan and David don't use words to communicate, but they are experts at showing us what matters to them, and exactly what makes a good support worker.
At home, they want someone who will:
- Bring a relaxed, happy atmosphere to the house
- Share plenty of laughter, silly games and silly voices
- Sing along to their favourite songs
- Turn everyday routines into moments worth enjoying
Out and about, they love:
- Catching up with friends and joining in activities at MacIntyre's Learning Centre in Ampthill
- Fresh air, trips to the park and picnics on sunny days
- Exploring new places and trying new things
And when it's time to put their feet up? Sixties music always wins, especially Elvis. Add a favourite TV programme and they're happy. They'd also love someone creative and enthusiastic to help them discover new interests.
