The role
Trade Support Senior Analyst
About the job
This role is part of the Trade Support team, which is responsible for providing support to front office desks, ensuring all trades are efficiently and accurately booked on Trade Date.
The role requires the performance of a series of control checks on T and T+1 and liaison with other Operations functions (e.g. confirmations, settlements) in resolving discrepancies / queries with trade bookings.
In addition, there is a significant client and stakeholder facing element to the role in relation to trade allocations, position management, and query resolution.
What you'll be doing
You'll be responsible for...
- Acting as Trade Support for a wide array of products across FIC and Commodities.
- Monitoring trades as they pass through the workflows in various front office systems and ensure they are quickly moved to back-office queues to enable timely processing of downstream operational functions (trade instruction, confirmation, matching, cash management and settlement)
- Monitoring exceptions on inter-system automated trade feeds, i.e. FOBO reconciliations and Clearer reconciliations, and ensure that all exceptions are identified and resolved
- Proactively driving change by acting as an architect of the business, continuously challenging complacency and identifying opportunities to strengthen controls, simplify processes and improve service delivery, whether small or large.
- Applying an intelligent risk mindset by analysing and understanding risk, using risk insight to review the control framework, inform decisions, optimise controls and drive better business and client outcomes - ensuring all key risk issues are raised to management and key business stakeholders.
What you'll need to be successful
We're looking for the following skills and experience. If you don't have all of these but think you could be a good fit for the role, get in touch.
- Banking operations experience with a proven background in at least one core operations function (ideally Trade Support but also Confirmations, Settlements, Clearing or Reconciliations)
- Good understanding of Commodity and/or FIC products
- Proven interpersonal and relationship building skills and ability to apply to relationships formed across different geographical regions
- Proven experience of having thrived in a fast-moving, high-pressured environment
- Technologically minded, capable of reflecting upon and improving their own process
- High level of integrity
- Excellent attention to detail
- Understanding of risk and control
