The role
As a Tasking Officer in the Tasking Hub, you will assess potential cases from a range of casework cohorts, systems and data sources to identify suitable opportunities for enforcement action. You will undertake detailed triage, confirm removability and identify any outstanding barriers, enhance case information through tracing and available data, and prepare clear and accurate tasking summaries for operational ICE teams.
You will identify and prioritise suitable cases for charter flights and other national activity, completing relevant document, biometric, address and operational checks. Where a case is not immediately suitable for tasking, you will identify the action required, refer or escalate barriers to the appropriate stakeholders, and monitor progress towards operational readiness.
You will maintain accurate tasking records, review operational outcomes, manage allocated case reviews and support performance reporting. Working collaboratively with caseworking teams, operational colleagues and other stakeholders, you will help resolve barriers, gather feedback and improve the quality and effectiveness of future tasking.
As this is a developing national capability, you will be expected to respond flexibly to changing priorities, adopt new systems and processes, contribute ideas for improvement, and help embed consistent, effective and auditable working practices.
What you'll do
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Triage cases from agreed cohorts, systems and data sources against national priorities, operational demand and current tasking criteria.
- Conduct detailed case checks to establish immigration status, removability, outstanding barriers, travel document position and suitability for enforcement activity.
- Enhance cases using available tracing, address, employment and other relevant data to produce clear, high-quality operational referrals.
- Identify, assess and prioritise suitable cases for charter flights, completing required checks and progressing issues that may prevent inclusion.
- Prepare accurate tasking summaries and ensure relevant records, spreadsheets and operational systems are complete and kept up to date.
- Identify and refer casework, documentation or operational barriers to the appropriate stakeholders, monitoring actions through to resolution.
- Review enforcement outcomes, overdue actions and returned tasking to identify barriers, further opportunities and lessons for future activity.
- Contribute to performance reporting, quality assurance and continuous improvement, responding flexibly to emerging national priorities.
