There are no specific qualifications required, but we really value any transferrable experience you might have including experience of caring for family members.
Requirements:
This position is within the UK, so would require you to already be living in or near York, UK.
We are not able to offer sponsorship for this position.
Home Instead has been providing care and support to the older people of York since 2009 and in 2020 opened a new office in Scarborough to support the people of Scarborough and Ryedale. We are rated 'Good' in all areas by the CQC.
We're a family business, proud to be providing the kind of care we would want for our own parents and grandparents.
There's lots of organisations recruiting in health and social care. What's different about Home Instead York?
We call our team members "Care Professionals" (others might say care assistant or support worker) because we know what an essential role they fulfil in the lives of our clients. If you would like your skills and experience to be recognised then apply to join our team.
We are looking for a regular working pattern so clients can get to know and trust you. Talk to us about working morning, evenings, weekends or a combination of all of them.
It's important to know that our busiest times are 8am-10.30am and 4.15pm-9pm. We would also love to hear from you if you can work weekends only or weekends with weekdays.
Please note that this role involves visiting clients in different locations. Although we minimise the distance from one client to the next, it is only practical to complete the role if you have your own vehicle.
This is a highly rewarding career where no two days are the same! With minimum 1 hour care visits and client matching, you have the time to provide high quality, person-focused care. Prior experience is valued but is not essential. We find that many people bring transferrable skills from other careers and from caring for family members.

Help with everyday tasks such as; meal preparation and light housework
Accompanying to appointments or shopping
