What you'll get

Salary: 60K GBP/yr - 80K GBP/yr

The role

Our client is a major South Korean engineering and manufacturing group with a growing presence in the UK power infrastructure market. They manufacture heavy electrical equipment and power systems, focusing on high-voltage transformers, grid infrastructure and energy storage. With contracts already secured with major UK network operators, they are looking to strengthen their position as the UK invests in upgrading its electricity networks and connecting more renewable energy.

They are looking for an experienced HV Transformer Project Manager to manage projects primarily for National Grid, alongside other transformer projects. Reporting to the Director of Project Management, you will take ownership of projects once a contract is handed over from sales and drive them through planning and design, manufacturing and delivery, to installation and completion on site.

You don't need to be a transformer design engineer. The focus is on managing complex electrical infrastructure projects and keeping them on track commercially, technically and operationally.

What you'll do

  • Scope, schedule and control projects throughout their lifecycle

  • Act as the central point of contact between the UK customer, subcontractors, the Korean headquarters, the factory and internal sales and commercial teams

  • Keep all stakeholders aligned on programme, progress, deliverables and expectations

  • Manage project documentation, including design information, quality records, progress reports and contractual deliverables

  • Identify risks and potential delays early, communicate them to the customer and work with teams to resolve them

  • Support tendering activities to help secure future projects
