The role
Planning Director
London | £85,000-£112,000 plus bonus
An international design and masterplanning practice is seeking a Planning Director in London to lead planning strategy on major place-making and regeneration projects.
The team's workload covers large-scale regeneration, new communities, urban extensions and strategic masterplanning. You will not be restricted to one narrow stage of the planning process; the intention is for you to see instructions through and understand the commercial decisions behind them.
Where you will add value
Prepare clear planning appraisals, statements and strategic advice.
Manage planning applications and coordinate technical inputs.
Maintain regular, professional communication with clients and project teams.
Negotiate constructively with local planning authorities and other stakeholders.
Review work produced by junior colleagues and support their development.
Contribute to fee proposals, client development and the commercial management of projects.
About you
Mrtpi; senior consultancy leadership; major regeneration experience and strong client profile. You should also be organised, dependable and able to explain planning issues in straightforward language. The business is interested in people who value good advice and long-term client relationships rather than unnecessary internal politics.
At this level, the precise shape of the role can be adjusted around your strengths, market profile and the relationships you can develop. All approaches will be handled discreetly.
Package and working arrangements
The salary is £85,000-£112,000 plus bonus. The wider package includes senior bonus, healthcare, enhanced pension, flexible working and influence over team growth. Exact arrangements will depend on experience and will be discussed openly during the process.
