Coventry Hub | PM Shift | £32,782 + Benefits12-Month Fixed Term Contract - Maternity Cover
Transport Supervisor - PM Shift
Help keep one of our busiest transport operations moving.
Our Coventry Hub can process up to 500,000 parcels every day, and behind that scale is a transport operation that needs to run safely, legally and on time.
We're looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join our PM shift on a 12-month fixed term contract, covering maternity leave.
Why join us?
This is an opportunity to take real responsibility within a large-scale, fast-moving transport operation where your decisions have an immediate impact.
You'll work closely with experienced transport leaders, develop your operational and people-management experience and play an important part in keeping our Coventry Hub running safely, legally and efficiently.
If you're an experienced transport professional who enjoys leading people, solving operational problems and keeping things moving, we'd love to hear from you.
Reporting to the Transport Shift Manager, you'll help lead the day-to-day transport operation across the PM shift. You'll work closely with our drivers, ensuring they're fully briefed, vehicles and routes are compliant, departures happen on time and any issues are resolved quickly.
You'll need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced transport environment where plans can change quickly. You'll be visible, hands-on and confident making decisions to keep the operation moving.
You'll support the Transport Shift Manager with the operational running of the Hub, including:
Briefing and debriefing drivers, making sure allocated runs and instructions are clearly understood and completed.
Reviewing route manifests and confirming all allocated work, working time and kilometres are accurately accounted for.
Challenging and investigating late arrivals or departures and taking appropriate action.
Working with internal and external stakeholders around collections and deliveries to ensure agreed service levels are achieved.
Making sure vehicle defects identified during checks or while on the road are actioned appropriately.
Ensuring accidents and vehicle damage are reported accurately and promptly.
Maintaining accurate vehicle and trailer information across our systems.
Downloading and interpreting information from digital tachographs.
Monitoring vehicle telematics and identifying areas requiring action.
Managing the Transport Management System and ensuring operational plan changes are accurately reflected.
Ensuring drivers remain fully compliant with legislative and company requirements.
Completing Health & Safety activities including yard walks and vehicle checks.
Maintaining strong operational standards and housekeeping across the transport environment.
Using operational data to produce management and KPI reports, carrying out root cause analysis and identifying appropriate actions.
Motivating and supporting drivers while resolving day-to-day operational problems.
Deputising for the Transport Shift Manager when required.
