Assistant Financial Controller

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in supporting the financial management of the hotel, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and providing valuable insight that helps drive business performance. You will also lead and develop the Accounts team, creating a positive and high-performing environment that reflects our values.

• Supporting the Head of Finance with the day-to-day management of the finance function.
• Producing accurate weekly and monthly financial reports, forecasts, and performance analysis.
• Assisting with the preparation and management of annual budgets and profitability targets.
• Overseeing month-end processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Managing payroll processes and ensuring labour costs are accurately controlled.
• Maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Monitoring revenue, expenditure, cash flow, and credit control procedures.
• Supporting audits and ensuring the integrity of financial systems and data.
• Preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and reviewing financial transactions.
• Building strong relationships with department leaders to provide financial guidance and support decision-making.
• Leading, coaching, and developing the Accounts team to achieve high levels of performance and engagement.

• Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Assistant Financial Controller, or similar hotel finance role.
• Hospitality experience is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.
• Experience producing financial reports and analysing business performance.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop others.
• Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with hotel finance systems.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all departments.
