Connect to your opportunity

This is a key delivery leadership role where you will support the successful delivery of complex, technology-enabled transformation programmes for insurance clients, working closely with senior Deloitte and client stakeholders to shape plans, manage delivery, resolve risks and drive measurable outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Leading delivery planning, estimation, mobilisation and execution across workstreams, ensuring scope, timelines, dependencies, risks and quality expectations are clearly managed.
  • Providing delivery leadership, guidance and day-to-day direction to multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Proactively identifying, assessing and managing delivery risks, issues and dependencies throughout the programme lifecycle, driving pragmatic resolution and escalating appropriately where needed.
  • Supporting delivery of high-quality outcomes by ensuring plans, governance, reporting, testing, readiness and transition activities are clear, joined up and outcome focused.
  • Acting as a trusted delivery point of contact, translating business priorities into actionable plans and communicating progress, risks and decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bringing awareness of insurance industry trends, regulatory considerations and operational pressures to help shape practical delivery approaches and identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Overseeing delivery readiness and implementation activities, ensuring change is effectively integrated into business operations and supported through appropriate handover, adoption and service transition arrangements.
  • Collaborating with programme, product, architecture, change, testing and business teams to align resources, priorities and delivery milestones to programme objectives.

The following are the core skills and experience required to be successful in this role:

  • Strong understanding of technology-enabled transformation within the insurance sector, including the operational, regulatory and customer considerations that shape successful delivery.
  • Proven ability to manage workstreams or projects within complex transformation programmes, supporting delivery from mobilisation through to implementation and transition.
  • Strong delivery management skills, including planning, governance, dependency management, risk and issue management, stakeholder engagement, reporting and benefits-focused delivery.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and business writing skills, with a demonstrated ability to bridge technical and senior business stakeholders (up to C-suite) within complex insurance organisations.
  • Experience working in Agile, hybrid or waterfall delivery environments, with the ability to apply the right level of structure and governance for the client context.
  • Ability to lead and motivate small to medium-sized teams, coaching junior colleagues and creating an inclusive, high-performing delivery environment.

  • Practical understanding of modern technology delivery, including software development lifecycle, environment management, testing, release management and operational readiness.
  • Awareness of cloud, data, automation and AI technologies and how they can support insurance transformation, without needing to be a deep technical specialist.
  • Strong commitment to delivery quality, robust governance, effective testing, controlled implementation and sustainable business adoption.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience delivering technology or operational change within insurance, pensions, wealth, claims, underwriting, policy servicing or customer operations environments.
  • Understanding of data, automation and AI-enabled delivery opportunities in insurance, including intelligent operations, workflow automation, customer communications, analytics and control management.
  • Ability to support delivery roadmaps and implementation plans that align with client business objectives, operational resilience expectations and regulatory considerations such as Consumer Duty, Solvency II, IDD, GDPR and relevant AI governance requirements.
  • Commercial awareness, with the ability to support engagement economics, delivery estimates, business case inputs, client proposals and measurable outcome tracking.
