Senior Electrical Designer

• Good knowledge of design working practices and installation requirements of the discipline across a range of industries.
• Proficient in CAD. Experienced in 3D modelling, ideally experienced in AVEVA PDMS - E3D
• Experience in Relux or other similar software packages
• Significant experience with a proven track record as a Electrical Designer on several projects in a similar environment.
• Knowledge of UK legislation and standards
• Excellent communication and time-management skills and experience of working within multidisciplinary teams
• Proven industry experience at all stages of project lifecycle
• Excellent knowledge of design working practices, UK legislation and standards
• Highly motivated
• Good communication skills and confident engaging with colleagues and relevant stakeholders
• Works with safety and risk management at the forefront of their minds

• Multiple industry sector experience, including one or more of the following: Water, Nuclear, Pipelines, Highways, Rail, Energy, Green Energy.
• EngTech or I-Eng ICE professional qualification

• Qualified to City & Guilds or HNC/HND/OND/ONC or equivalent

This is an exciting new role where you will perform or support the Lead designer position on one or more Projects. Industries can range across Water, Transport and Energy including Green Energy, Nuclear and Oil and Gas.

• Your responsibilities could involve:
• Providing safe, practical and economic designs for clients to a high standard of professional competence and in compliance with Company procedures
• Producing design deliverables such as single line diagrams, block cable diagrams, cable routing diagrams, schematics, equipment layouts and 3D models
• Production of related documentation including bills of materials, cable schedules and design packs and material requisitions
• Acting as the Senior Designer on proposals
• Mentoring and developing less experienced designers
• Checking of drawings in accordance with Company Procedures.
• Liaising with other disciplines as required.
• Ensuring all work is carried out in a manner that will produce a safe and operable design, and that all personnel assigned work in a safe manner; in particular ensuring that all personnel assigned to the worksite are adequately briefed and trained.
