Cafe Assistant

What you'll be doing:

We're currently recruiting a dedicated Catering Assistant to join our team at the Dalby Forest Visitor Centre Café on a permanent casual basis, contracted to 0 hours per week. Located in the heart of The Great Yorkshire Forest, our café provides high-quality, locally sourced dining options, including catering packages for corporate events, team away days and public activity days.

The successful Catering Assistant will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with basic food preparation, customer service and generally supporting the operations while adhering to all Health and Food Safety requirements. Key responsibilities include

• Basic food preparation, counter set up and serving of food and beverages
• Handling cash and card transactions accurately
• Operating coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment safely and efficiently
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the café and associated working areas
• Restocking supplies and monitoring inventory levels
• Ensuring the highest level of customer care is delivered to customers
• Working collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations
• Following food hygiene, and Health & Safety guidelines in line with training which is provided

Our ideal team member will:

• Have own transport due to remote location.

• Benefit from having experience as a café assistant or barista, although no experience is required. We love to develop our new recruits!

• Be available to work over weekends and school holidays

• Have a passion for delivering outstanding service, greeting customers with a smile and serving them with pride
• Be an excellent team player with great communication skills
• Possess the ability to work under pressure
• Have a safety-first mind set

Salary

up to £12.71 per hour (age dependent)
