Working within our busy Plant Area, you'll support the day-to-day running of the department, ensuring it is well stocked, beautifully presented and maintained to the high standards our customers expect.

This is a varied, hands-on role where you'll be involved in everything from watering and caring for plants to merchandising seasonal displays and helping customers choose the right plants and products for their gardens.

Previous horticultural or plant area experience is essential for this role.

• Deliver excellent customer service, offering knowledgeable advice and assistance to customers.
• Water, care for and maintain the health and quality of plants.
• Replenish stock and create attractive, inspiring plant displays.
• Assist with deliveries, stock movement and merchandising.
• Keep the Plant Area clean, tidy, safe and well presented at all times.
• Ensure accurate pricing and point-of-sale signage is displayed.
• Support seasonal changes and promotions within the Plant Area.
• Work with the wider team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the department.

Blackdown Garden Centre is looking for an enthusiastic Plant Area General Assistant to join our friendly team on a temporary basis until 31 December 2026. Working within our busy Plant Area, you'll help create an inspiring shopping experience by caring for our plants, maintaining high presentation standards, and providing knowledgeable and friendly service to our customers.

Location: Blackdown Garden Centre
Hours: Part-time
Contract: Temporary until 31 December 2026 | Friday, Saturday and Sunday working required
