The role

Are you passionate about making a real difference in young people's lives?

The Anchor Aberdeen CashBack Service aims to provide targeted, assertive outreach responses focusing on young people primarily aged 11-18 who may be subjected to exploitation.

We're looking for motivated, compassionate individuals who are genuinely committed to helping young people feel safer, more confident, and more connected within their communities.

This role is more than just a job - it's an opportunity to build trusted relationships, inspire positive change, and support young people to thrive. You'll work directly with young people in a variety of settings, creating safe spaces, encouraging participation, and helping them access the support they need. Currently the service is recruiting for 2 positions to deliver the service (1x 29.6 hrs, 1x 22.2hrs, maternity cover) to work on a rotational basis.

We are seeking people who:

  • Have a strong, genuine interest in supporting young people and improving their sense of safety and wellbeing
  • Can confidently engage and build rapport with young people, especially those who may be reluctant or disengaged
  • Are creative, proactive, and able to encourage participation in activities and services
  • Work well as part of a team and with partners across communities
  • Are flexible and committed to meeting young people where they are - including evenings and weekends

If you are someone who can connect, motivate, and empower young people to make positive choices, we would love to hear from you.

In addition to contracted hours, there may also be opportunity to work additional hours, subject to service needs.

Pay & Reward Framework

We know that our colleagues go above and beyond in delivering our vital work, driven by their passion and commitment to Barnardo's values. We also know that we can only realise our ambitions and achieve better outcomes for more children, thanks to the talent, hard work and creativity of our people.

For all these reasons, we are committed to a new approach to pay and reward, to ensure it is fair, attractive and progressive, which was rolled out in April 2023. This is a positive change for the charity, and a part of our People & Culture Strategy. It will assist us in supporting colleagues to belong, thrive and grow in their colleague journey at Barnardo's and in time will offer clear routes of progression for colleagues in both their career and their pay.

Whilst the full pay band and salary range is advertised, our approach to starting salaries is to appoint between the minimum to mid-point of the pay band - this ensures that pay steps are available to reward our colleagues annually based on their contribution to excellence and alignment to our values and behaviours. More details on Barnardo's pay framework can be found upon application.
