Reporting to the UK Head of Quality & Compliance, you'll play a key role in ensuring our business continues to meet legal, regulatory, contractual and management system requirements, whilst providing independent assurance and driving continual improvement across a diverse portfolio of projects.
This is a hybrid role based from our Glasgow office, with regular travel across operational projects and business locations throughout the UK.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Leading compliance governance arrangements and assurance programmes across the UK.
- Monitoring legislative, regulatory and contractual obligations and ensuring effective implementation across operational teams.
- Managing and developing a team of Compliance Advisors.
- Leading audits, inspections, reviews and compliance assurance activities.
- Acting as the key liaison with external auditors, certification bodies, regulators and assurance providers.
- Maintaining oversight of compliance risks and associated control measures.
- Leading investigations into significant compliance breaches and governance concerns.
- Providing expert advice and recommendations to senior leadership teams.
- Developing compliance KPIs, dashboards and performance reporting.
- Analysing trends and identifying opportunities to improve governance, assurance and business performance.
- Embedding lessons learned and driving a culture of continual improvement.
- Delivering compliance awareness, training and capability programmes across the business.
Who we're looking for
We're seeking a highly capable compliance professional with strong leadership skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
You'll ideally have:
- Significant experience in Compliance, Governance, Assurance, Quality Management or Risk Management.
- Experience working within large, complex or heavily regulated industries such as infrastructure, construction, energy, utilities or engineering.
- A strong understanding of regulatory compliance, governance frameworks and assurance processes.
- Proven experience leading audits, reviews and compliance programmes.
- Experience managing and developing teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to challenge constructively and provide independent, objective advice.
- Experience working with regulators, certification bodies and external auditors.
- Lead Auditor qualifications or equivalent experience would be advantageous.
- Relevant professional qualifications or memberships in Compliance, Governance, Quality or Risk disciplines would be desirable.
