Astute's Strategic Division are currently recruiting for a Senior Authorised Person to join the Health and Safety Specialist on an Operational Power Plant based in Yorkshire for an initial 3 months contract.

The SAP position comes with a day rate of £500.00 to £550.00 per day outside IR35.

Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:

• Act as the Senior Authorised Person (SAP) / Safety Team Leader (STL) on an operational Energy from Waste (EfW) power plant, ensuring all HV activities are carried out safely and in accordance with site Safety Rules.
• Responsible for the safe operation, isolation, switching and restoration of HV electrical systems, including preparation and implementation of switching schedules.
• Issue, manage and cancel Safety Documents, including Permits to Work, Sanctions for Test and Limitation of Access, ensuring appropriate isolations and safety precautions are in place.
• Ideally hold current or previous HV authorisation up to 132/133kV and 11kV, or similar high-voltage systems, although equivalent operational power-generation experience will be considered.
• Coordinate with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams to safely plan and execute planned and reactive maintenance, outages and electrical works across the plant.
• Ensure full compliance with site Safety Rules, HSE regulations, electrical safety procedures and RAMS, maintaining the highest standards of operational safety.
• Utilise Eclipse software or similar operational/safety management systems, alongside a relevant CMMS, to manage isolations, work orders, maintenance activities and plant records.
• Provide technical support during fault finding, plant trips and electrical incidents, ensuring safe restoration of plant and equipment while minimising operational downtime.
