What we're looking for
- Experience with Azure cloud technologies, including Logic Apps and Azure Functions.
- Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, and web services.
- Knowledge of DevOps, Git and CI/CD practices.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure‑as‑Code (ARM, Bicep, Terraform).
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience supporting integrations in a live environment.

The role

We provide integrated and ground-breaking solutions for the civil engineering and construction sectors, with specialisms in rail, highways, airports, marine, defence, energy, water, and environmental infrastructure.
VolkerWessels UK is seeking a Systems Developer to support the design, development, and maintenance of business‑critical applications across the organisation. This role plays a key part in delivering secure, scalable, and high‑quality software solutions that underpin operational performance.
What you'll do
You'll work across the full software development lifecycle, contributing to cloud‑based integrations and system enhancements. You will also collaborate closely with project teams, stakeholders, and support functions to ensure effective delivery and continuous improvement of systems and processes.
Please note that this is a permanent, full time role, based onsite in Hoddesdon.
- Develop, maintain and support integrations and software solutions.
- Enhance existing systems to improve performance, reliability, and data integrity.
- Work with Azure technologies including Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Key Vault, and API Management.
- Support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub.
- Produce and maintain high‑quality technical documentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and support teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
- Adhere to development standards, security controls, and governance requirements.
- Mentoring and coaching our team.
