HSE Engineer (Contract | Outside IR35)

Location: Talacre, UK (on-site) - approx. 5% travel to London

Start: ASAP

Contract length: 12 months

Rate: £550/day (GBP), please note half day rate on Saturdays

UTM Consultants are supporting the on the Liverpool Bay Project (Decommissioning & Carbon Capture and Storage). The HSE Engineer will report to the Project HSE Manager and will support the development, management and continuous improvement of the HSE / Safety Management System throughout the engineering and development phases (EPIC projects).

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and supervise project and construction-level HSE procedures
• Lead/drive risk management activities (e.g., HAZID, HAZOP, Hazard & Effect Management, risk assessments)
• Support compliance with contractual, regulatory and client requirements
• Plan and conduct internal HSE audits
• Coordinate and prepare HSE files/deliverables in line with CDM regulations
• Lead accident / incident investigations and corrective actions
• Complete supplier HSE evaluations, readiness reviews and review supplier HSE documentation
• Support coverage where needed (HSE training / PTW / HSE officer activities)
• Monitor and report HSE performance and KPIs

Requirements

• Qualification in HSE or an engineering-related discipline
• NEBOSH Diploma
• 3-7 years' experience within Oil & Gas / energy, with exposure to onshore projects and construction design / regulatory management
• ISO 45001 Lead Auditor (preferred/required as per project needs)
