Daniel Thwaites Graduate Programme

Daniel Thwaites is a diverse hospitality business made up hotels, spas, inns, pubs and a craft brewery located across England. With an eye for quality, our purpose is to make people feel at ease through real hospitality, delivered by friendly faces in our outstanding properties in great locations. The business was founded in 1807 and continues to be family run, with over 215 years of history. The Company is proud of its heritage, but is also progressive, always looking to innovate to offer the best guest experience.

About the Graduate Programme

We're looking for graduates to join our business, and over 18 months on an operational programme develop from supervisor into a department manager. You will experience the world of both hotels, spas and inns, rotating through operational departments to gain a detailed understanding of our business and the industry. You will be able to learn from your peers through mentoring and coaching, develop your commercial knowledge and leadership skills all with the view to enhancing your career and becoming an inspirational leader. By the end of the programme, you will have gained hands on experience with a career pathway to move into an operational management role.

The qualities we are looking for

We're looking for enthusiastic, positive and personable people who are passionate about developing their career and becoming future leaders; team players who are naturally hospitable and enjoy being with other people. You will most likely have recently graduated from university with a hospitality degree although this is not essential and will have proven experience of working in a hospitality environment, ideally to a supervisory level.

Over the next 18 months, you will have the opportunity to relocate to up to two of our properties, gaining experience in locations ranging from the beautiful Lake District and Yorkshire Dales to York, Leeds, Bristol, Cirencester, Hampshire and the South Coast. With properties across the country, placements will be tailored where possible, and for those who already live near one of our properties, relocation may not be necessary. Live-in accommodation is available for participants who require it.

You will need to be available for assessment centres on w/c 15th March 2027, or w/c 12th April 2027.

Please note we're unable to provide sponsorship to overseas candidates at this time.

In return, we are offering a rewarding role with scope for career progression along with;

  • A competitive salary
  • Stream - the ability to draw down up to 40% of your monthly wages as you earn them each week
  • 28 days annual leave (rising to 33 days after 5 years)
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
  • Healthcare cash plan with access to discounted perks and high street discounts
  • Long service awards, including free meals and free stays with your friends or family
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Discounted accommodation, food, and drink in our beautiful properties
  • Pension and Life assurance
  • Bespoke training programmes accessible to all
  • An engaging & supportive work environment
