The role

This is an outstanding opportunity to join our AI & Automation team as an AI Engineer, helping to shape how artificial intelligence is applied across the business.

As part of a growing specialist team, you'll play a key role in designing, building and deploying innovative AI solutions that solve real business challenges and deliver tangible value. Working at the forefront of AI innovation, you'll develop applications powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents and other emerging technologies, creating intelligent products and tools used across the organisation.

You'll work closely with business stakeholders, product teams and fellow engineers to understand complex problems, identify opportunities for AI-driven solutions, and translate ideas into scalable, production-ready applications. From solution design and architecture through to development, deployment and optimisation, you'll have the opportunity to contribute across the entire lifecycle of AI delivery.

This role would suit someone who is passionate about AI, enjoys solving challenging problems, and thrives in an environment where technology is evolving rapidly. We're looking for engineers who are naturally curious, stay abreast of industry developments, and are excited by the prospect of turning cutting-edge AI capabilities into practical business outcomes.

Working within a modern AWS-based environment, you'll collaborate with a highly skilled team that is driving the organisation's AI strategy and helping to define the next generation of AI-powered products and services

What you'll do

  • Build, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions using AWS services such as Bedrock and SageMaker.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritise business problems suited to AI solutions.
  • Analyse complex data sets to derive insights and inform solution design.
  • Monitor and improve the performance of AI applications in production.
  • Stay updated with advancements in AI technologies and foundation model capabilities.
  • Write and maintain documentation and training materials.
  • Coordinate third-party work to ensure it meets SJP's standards

About you

You will be a highly motivated and naturally curious AI Engineer with a passion for applying emerging technologies to solve complex business problems. Combining strong software engineering fundamentals with hands-on experience of AI and cloud technologies, you'll thrive in an environment where innovation, experimentation and continuous learning are actively encouraged.

You will have a proven track record of designing, building and deploying production-grade applications, with experience working in Python and AWS-based environments. You'll be comfortable working with Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI-powered solutions, and able to demonstrate how you've applied these technologies to deliver meaningful business outcomes.
