Skills
Nice to have
The role
Base Location: Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm Operations & Maintenance Base, Wick, Caithness however there is also potential that you could be based from one of our other sites or offices in either Aberdeen, Montrose or Inverness.
Salary: £45,452 - £54,311 depending on experience + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available
The role
You don't need to come from offshore wind to make an impact in offshore wind.
We're looking for a Technical Planner to join our team supporting Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm.
If your background is in maintenance planning, engineering, operations, scheduling or asset management, whether that's been within renewables, oil & gas, utilities, marine, manufacturing or another operational environment, we'd be interested in hearing from you.
Based from our operations in Wick, you'll help turn maintenance requirements into practical, achievable plans. You'll bring together people, resources, contractors and operational priorities to make sure work happens safely, efficiently and at the right time.
This isn't about already knowing everything about offshore wind. It's about being able to plan, organise, solve problems and work with different people to get things done. You'll have the opportunity to build your knowledge of offshore wind while playing a direct part in the operation of one of Scotland's major renewable energy assets.
You will
- Develop and coordinate short, medium and long-term maintenance plans, bringing together people, contractors, resources and operational requirements.
- Lead daily and weekly planning discussions, resolving competing priorities and keeping planned work moving.
- Use maintenance information and operational data to build effective schedules, resource forecasts and support budget planning.
- Work with our maintenance management system, IBM Maximo, ensuring work orders and asset information are accurate and useful. If you've used another CMMS or maintenance system, we'd still like to hear from you.
- Work closely with colleagues across operations, engineering and maintenance to continuously improve how work is planned and delivered at Beatrice.
You have
We're more interested in your planning and operational experience than whether you've worked in offshore wind before.
You'll ideally bring:
- Experience in maintenance planning, engineering planning, scheduling, operations or asset maintenance, gained in an operational or engineering environment.
- Experience using a maintenance management or work management system. IBM Maximo would be useful, but experience with another CMMS is absolutely relevant.
- The ability to juggle changing priorities, build practical plans and coordinate work involving different teams and contractors.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, and the confidence to speak up when you see a better way of doing something.
- A practical approach to solving problems and an understanding of why good planning matters in a safety-focused operational environment.
Experience with MS Project, Primavera P6 or offshore wind would be useful, but isn't essential.
If you recognise yourself in most of this but don't tick every box, we'd still encourage you to apply.
