The role will ensure improvements are sustainable, supported by clear ownership, effective controls, documented processes and appropriately skilled colleagues.

The role is required initially for a 12 month period following a complex ERP implementation, a change in organisational design and the need to see efficiency to create more time for value add activity. There is also a preparation required for the go live of D365 Supply Chain Management in 2029

What you'll do

  • Lead reviews of key end-to-end Finance processes, identifying inefficiencies, manual activity, control weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
  • Design and implement simplified, standardised and controlled future-state processes.
  • Develop and manage a prioritised Finance transformation roadmap with clear deliverables, owners and measures of success.
  • Ensure processes are appropriately documented, with clear ownership and performance measures.
  • Embed continuous improvement disciplines across the Finance team.
  • Lead the Finance agenda for the optimisation of D365 and associated Finance systems.
  • Identify system pain points, manual workarounds, automation opportunities and underused functionality.
  • Translate Finance requirements into clear business requirements and change requests.
  • Work with Finance, IT, D365 specialists and third parties to design and implement practical solutions.
  • Coordinate Finance input into solution design, testing, implementation and business sign-off for the next phase of D365 SCM.
  • Ensure system enhancements deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, accuracy, control, data quality or user experience.
  • Explore use of Co Work and other AI tools to automate where possible manual tasks and reconciliations.
  • Assess the capability and training needs arising from new processes and D365 functionality.
  • Develop and deliver practical training, coaching and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Establish Finance process owners and subject-matter experts to sustain improvements.
  • Produce appropriate process documentation, training materials and user guidance.
  • Build a culture of ownership, accountability, problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Develop effective engagement and change plans for transformation initiatives.
  • Engage Finance colleagues in the design and implementation of new ways of working.
