The role
Priory Tudor House - Residential Addictions Service
Salary £27202.5/ annually | 37.5 hours/week (Full time)
Shifts: Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays
3 Long days | 7am or 7pm start (TBC)
Located in a beautiful rural setting in Grafton Regis, Priory Tudor House offers a revolutionary, therapy-led residential addiction rehab service. Just a 20-minute drive from Northampton and Milton Keynes with free on-site parking, our home is a place where deep human connection is everything.
Opening this January, this is a unique opportunity to help shape our new service from the ground up.
While we know what we expect from our support workers, you won't just be stepping into a fixed routine. Instead, you'll have the exciting opportunity to help design and evolve the role as we welcome our first clients.
What you'll do
As an experienced Senior Support Worker, you will join a new team dedicated to helping clients build resilience and manage everyday triggers during their recovery journey.
- Lead Handovers: Coordinate seamless shift handovers, share critical insights, and ensure information flows effectively across the team without direct line management duties.
- Rapid Connection: Build meaningful, trusting relationships quickly, supporting clients who may only be part of our community for short-stay periods (sometimes as brief as two weeks).
- Maintain Standards: Manage a high volume of essential administrative work, keeping precise daily records, safety reports, and collaborative support plans updated.
- Health & Safety Checks: Conduct routine, low-risk environment checks to ensure a safe, welcoming, and compliant home for everyone.
- Collaborative Safety: Notice subtle changes in client wellbeing, respond calmly to challenges, and work alongside colleagues to protect client dignity and confidentiality.
Note: In our service, clients manage their own medical situations, so prior medication administration knowledge is not required. All team members share equal responsibility for client care rather than holding individual key worker caseloads.

Skills & Expertise
We're looking for a grounded, confident individual who can build rapid rapport with short-stay clients and provide clear, supportive guidance to colleagues during a shift.
- Rapid Connection: The ability to build meaningful, trusting professional relationships quickly, coupled with excellent communication and listening skills.
- Administration: Strong literacy and computer skills to manage a high volume of daily notes, reports, and administrative tasks accurately.
- Shift Guidance: The confidence to lead smooth handovers, guide daily tasks on shift, and resolve operational concerns constructively.
- Resilience: Exceptional patience, emotional stamina, and the ability to maintain a calm, reassuring presence under pressure.
- Professional Boundaries: A deep commitment to client dignity, personal choice, and safeguarding, while strictly maintaining clear professional boundaries.
- Qualifications (Desirable): A Level 3 Diploma/NVQ in Health and Social Care is great to have, as is any prior experience supporting individuals through addiction-though neither is essential.
