What we're looking for
You'll be a hands-on sales leader who is as comfortable shaping the strategy as you are prospecting, pitching and closing the deal.
We're looking for:
- Proven sales experience, with a strong record of creating and closing incremental revenue.
- Experience building a sales strategy, proposition and pipeline where there is no established playbook.
- Strong commercial judgement, including market sizing, margin understanding, business cases and credible forecasting.
- The ability to move confidently from big-picture thinking to pitch decks, CRM discipline and deal execution.
- A collaborative leadership style and the ability to influence across multiple functions.
- Experience coaching and developing sales talent.
- Energy, resilience and confidence operating in a fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environment.
Experience in hospitality, restaurants, events, leisure, foodservice, FMCG, retail, travel, loyalty, partnerships or another multi-site consumer brand would be a real advantage.
The role
We're looking for a commercially ambitious Head of Sales to create the next chapter of growth at PizzaExpress.
This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up. You'll turn our restaurants, experiences, loyalty audience, hot food-to-go products and delivery capabilities into compelling propositions, opening new revenue streams and creating opportunities we have not yet imagined.
What you'll do
- Create and own the sales strategy, targets, pipeline and activity plan.
- Win corporate events, meetings, school visits, celebrations and high-value group bookings.
- Grow our Adult and Kids Pizza Making Parties and sell PizzaExpress spaces to event organisers.
- Develop valuable B2B propositions connected to the PizzaExpress Club loyalty ecosystem, while protecting customer trust.
- Secure distribution partners for our new hot food-to-go range.
- Build delivery partnerships with hotels, workplaces, venues and other organisations.
- Identify, test and scale new commercial opportunities across our brand, restaurants, music experiences and customer touchpoints.
- Lead and coach a Sales Executive, embedding strong CRM, forecasting and pipeline management.
- Work closely with Operations, Marketing, Digital, Finance, Legal, Data, Technology, Food and Supply Chain to turn opportunities into experiences we can deliver brilliantly.
What success looks like
You'll build a visible, well-qualified pipeline, secure early flagship wins and create propositions that can be repeated across priority channels. Your work will directly contribute to incremental sales, restaurant utilisation, customer acquisition and the reach of the PizzaExpress brand.
You'll balance commercial pace with operational reality, protecting the customer experience and building partnerships that deliver sustainable value over time.
Where you'll work
You'll be based at our London Fitzrovia hub, with regular travel to restaurants, customer meetings, partner locations and our Uxbridge office. The role has a UK-wide remit and initially reports to the Chief Commercial Officer.
Hiring process
The careers FAQ names some stages: apply online through the careers site, receive an email acknowledgement, hear back within about 2 weeks, then attend an interview arranged by the talent team or hiring manager. It does not describe a full end-to-end process 1 interview
- Candidates must bring evidence of eligibility to work in the UK (or Republic of Ireland for Milano roles) to interview.
- New restaurant vacancies are usually advertised about 12 weeks before opening.
