Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don't perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
Veterinary Surgeon - flexible rota, Salary up to £65,000 fte
We're looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our welcoming team at Buckingham Vets4Pets on a part time basis.
In the heart of the community and based in the thriving town of Buckingham, facilities at our purpose-built practice include 3 consult rooms, operating theatre, preparation room, separate dog and cat wards and all the equipment you would expect from a leading GP practice, as well kitchen/office space for our colleagues.
Our days are structured with 15-minute consults as standard, longer when needed, and time taken for lunch and admin also factored into the day. We meet regularly as a clinical team to discuss issues and how to progress our patient and client care and monthly as a whole team, with an open and flexible approach the rest of the time.
There is a mixture of consults and ops time, with time to build cases and develop your skills and bonds with clients.
This rewarding position is part time with occasional sole charge so experience in this is required, and we can accommodate anything from 20-30 hours per week with no OOH. We can be flexible with days off and start and finish times, ensuring a good work/life balance is achieved, with just 1 in 3 Saturdays although this is also open to discussion.
The practice is run locally by Victor who qualified over 10 years ago and has a special interest in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery and who is supported by a stable, consistent team of 2 further vets, 3 RVNs confident in schedule 3 and supporting in minor surgery, 1 veterinary care assistant, 3 receptionists and a practice coordinator.
"I feel very lucky to have joined Vets for Pets Buckingham in April 2019. I am loving it here, the team is amazing and I am really excited to now be the owner of this fantastic practice" Dr Victor Okoli, MRCVS
