The role

Digital User Experience Consultant

  • Shape accessible digital experiences that make life easier for our valued customers

  • Build specialist expertise with ongoing development and progression opportunities

  • Hybrid 80% homeworking and 20% from Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford Upon Avon

About the role

At NFU Mutual, digital is an increasingly important part of how our customers choose to interact with us. As our Digital User Experience Consultant, you will be a specialist practitioner who turns customer insight, user needs and business requirements into accessible, intuitive digital experiences that deliver customer and business value.

Working within our Digital team, you will design and improve complex customer journeys across web, mobile and future digital channels. You will map end to end journeys and create practical designs, from user flows and journey maps through to wireframes, prototypes and interface designs. You will also deliver and maintain reusable patterns and components that support consistent and accessible experiences.

You will plan user research, usability testing and prototype testing, then use the findings to recommend and deliver improvements. You will review digital accessibility, identify issues and support remediation. By monitoring customer behaviour, feedback and journey performance, you will prioritise opportunities that improve self service while complementing the personal support customers receive through our Agency Network and Mutual Direct.

You will provide user experience expertise throughout delivery, working with product, delivery, technology, insight, marketing and customer experience colleagues. You will clarify requirements, support implementation and assure that delivered solutions meet agreed design, accessibility, regulatory and governance standards.

This is a full time role based at our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford Upon Avon, with 80% homeworking.

About you

You are a customer focused and forward thinking user experience professional who communicates clearly, builds effective stakeholder relationships and collaborates confidently across different disciplines. You can explain your design decisions, offer constructive challenge and work with others to turn insight into practical outcomes.

To join our team, you'll also bring

  • Proven experience delivering user centred design and optimisation in complex, regulated environments, including self service and transactional customer journeys

  • Experience creating user flows, journey maps, information architecture, wireframes, interactive prototypes and interface designs for web and mobile

  • Advanced Figma skills, including creating and maintaining component libraries, prototypes and interface designs within an established design system

  • Experience planning user research, usability testing and prototype testing, and translating findings into clear design improvements

  • Practical experience of digital accessibility standards and testing, including WCAG, issue identification, remediation and compliance assurance
