The role

You'll lead Nationwide's paid social and creator marketing agenda, developing social-first and creator-led activity that build our brand, drive engagement and deliver commercial impact. Bringing together platform expertise, audience insight and creative excellence, you'll ensure social and creator activity plays a central role in our most important marketing programmes. Partnering with some of the industry's leading social and media agencies, you'll shape work that earns attention, sparks conversation and helps Nationwide remain relevant in culture and connected to our audiences.

What you'll be doing

You'll own paid social planning, activation and optimisation across key platforms, working closely with media and agency partners to maximise effectiveness and return on investment. You'll also lead our creator and influencer strategy, identifying opportunities to build brand relevance, engagement and advocacy through partnerships and collaborations.

You'll ensure paid social and creator thinking is embedded in wider brand and integrated marketing activity from the outset. Partnering with internal teams and external agencies, you'll develop social-first and creator-led campaigns that capture attention, encourage engagement and deliver measurable impact.

Using audience insights, platform expertise and performance data, you'll inform investment decisions, shape creative development and guide future activity. You'll also champion innovation by identifying emerging opportunities across platforms, creators and content, helping Nationwide stay ahead of trends.

About you

You will have/be:

  • Significant experience leading paid social and creator marketing for a major consumer brand
  • Deep expertise across social platforms, creator partnerships, influencer marketing and social-first content development
  • Strong understanding of audience behaviours, digital culture and emerging social trends
  • Demonstrable experience integrating social and creator activity into broader marketing and communications programmes
  • Excellent strategic planning, campaign leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong creative judgement, with the confidence to shape and improve creative work
  • Proven experience managing high-profile social, creator, media and agency partnerships
  • Commercially astute, with extensive experience managing significant budgets and driving marketing effectiveness
  • Ability to operate effectively at pace, balancing long-term brand building with immediate business priorities

Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together. They are the set of behaviours that every colleague needs to display, in every role:

  • Feel what customers feel - We step into our customers' shoes, using their feedback and insights to empathise with them and to understand their needs, so that every decision we make starts and finishes with our customers in mind

  • Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think - we're honest and direct with good intent, openly sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions and using language everyone can understand

  • Push for better - We don't settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development

  • Get it done - We prioritise what will have the greatest impact, we are decisive, and we take accountability for delivering brilliant customer outcomes

You can strengthen your application by showing how our customer first behaviours resonate with you, and where you may have already demonstrated these.
