What it's like to work here
Tredegar House stands proudly at the heart of Newport's heritage. For more than 500 years the house was home the Morgan family, whose lives impacted on the population of south-east Wales socially, economically and politically. We now welcome over 400,000 visitors a year to the surviving 90 acres of the estate. For more information about this location, please click here.
We're proud of the role the Welsh language plays in the places and communities we care for across Wales. Whether you're a fluent Welsh speaker, a learner, or completely new to the language, we'll support you to develop the skills and confidence needed for your role and to engage with Welsh language and culture as part of working at the National Trust.
What you'll be doing

As a Collections Assistant, you'll be working with a supportive housekeeping team in an inspiring historic setting. You'll help with the day-to-day cleaning and care of the precious collections of objects, works of art, textiles and furniture that form part of the house's history. With a keen eye for detail, you'll monitor everything from environmental conditions within the house to signs of wear and tear, keeping accurate records along the way. You'll also provide support to our Collections and House volunteers when needed.

This is a role that's all about people too, so you'll have plenty of opportunities to talk to visitors about the work you do and the collections you help care for.

You can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what's possible in this role.
