Sheet Metal Line Leader

Position Description

We now have an opportunity for a Line Leader in our sheet metal department on the day shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of reports to meet agreed production requirements
• Recognise the 'Voice of the Customer' in everything we do by contributing to a proactive and preventive quality improvement culture, underpinned by the spirit of continuous improvement
• Ensure Sheet Metal Control Plan is followed by their report
• Assess and distribute work within the team
• Actively participate in the company BBS process
• Produce and maintain standard work
• Maintain ADP time and attendance records and return to work interviews
• Inform the Team Leader of any issues that may require disciplinary action
• Inform the Team Leader of any accidents or near misses
• Liaise with both the office and shop floor personnel/departments
• Hold team briefings as and when required
• Determine training requirements for the team
• Make recommendations to improve and achieve departmental targets
• To understand, promote and contribute to the company health and safety, risk assessment and environmental policies within sheet metal
• Required to support and stand in for Team Leader - when required
• To monitor individual performance against MOS/MPS matrix

Required Education & Qualifications

• Knowledge of sheet metal production areas and powder coating
• Ability to be flexible and available for overtime
• Good communication skills
• Supervisory experience would be an advantage
• Ability to maintain good working relationships within all levels of the Company
• Safety, Environmental & Quality awareness
