  • The opportunity to lead and develop a regional planning team within one of the UK's leading Facilities Management organisations.
  • A key role influencing remedial performance, statutory compliance and maintenance delivery across a regional portfolio.
  • Exposure to Engineering, Operations, Commercial, Procurement and Supply Chain functions.

The role

Join Mitie - the future of high-performing places.

At Mitie, our people are our greatest strength. We are committed to creating an environment where everyone can thrive, reach their full potential, and be their best every day.

We are looking for an experienced Regional Remedial Planning Lead to lead a regional planning team and ensure the effective delivery of remedials across our service portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong planner and people leader who can combine operational coordination, data-driven decision making and compliance management to deliver safe, reliable and customer-focused maintenance programmes.

What you'll do

About the Role

As Regional Remedial Planning Lead, you will take ownership of the regional remedial planning process, translating asset registers, statutory requirements, contractual frequencies and customer priorities into achievable annual, monthly and weekly maintenance plans.

You will lead and develop a small team of planners while providing a clear view of remedial demand, capacity, compliance, risks and forecast delivery. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Commercial, Procurement, suppliers and customers, you will ensure that labour, materials, subcontractors, access, permits and documentation are aligned to deliver maintenance safely, efficiently and compliantly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the regional planning team, allocating workloads, setting priorities, monitoring performance and providing coaching, feedback and development to maintain a high-performing and resilient service.
  • Own the integrated regional remedial plan, translating asset data, maintenance frequencies, statutory and contractual requirements into deliverable annual, monthly and weekly schedules.
  • Coordinate the complete remedial planning lifecycle, from data validation and work-order generation through labour, subcontractor, material, access and permit readiness to delivery, evidence capture and compliant closure.
  • Monitor KPIs, statutory compliance, backlog, overdue tasks, capacity and data quality, identifying risks early and coordinating recovery plans, mitigations and appropriate escalation.
  • Work collaboratively with Engineering, Operations, Commercial, Procurement, suppliers and customers to align resources and communicate maintenance plans, dependencies and risks while driving continuous improvement.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

  • A confident and inclusive leader who can set clear expectations, develop colleagues and create an accountable and collaborative team environment.
  • Highly organised and capable of balancing team capacity, recurring planning cycles, changing operational demands and urgent compliance requirements.
  • Analytical and detail-focused, with excellent data governance and the ability to maintain accurate, traceable and audit-ready maintenance records.
  • A strong communicator who can influence and constructively challenge engineering, operational, commercial, supply-chain and customer stakeholders.
  • Proactive and improvement-focused, with sound commercial judgement and the ability to balance safety, compliance, asset reliability, customer outcomes and cost.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Embed Health & Safety into remedial planning, ensuring workloads and schedules allow for safe systems of work, statutory compliance, competent resources and appropriate supervision.
  • Ensure planning readiness by considering RAMS, permits, isolations, access requirements, asset information, specialist support and site or customer approvals before maintenance is scheduled.
  • Identify and escalate safety-critical blockers including competence gaps, access failures, overdue statutory maintenance and missing controls, ensuring risks have clear ownership and mitigation plans.
  • Maintain visibility of safety-related dependencies, deferrals and decisions through maintenance plans, compliance reporting and governance processes.
  • Support continuous improvement by applying lessons from hazards, incidents, missed maintenance, asset failures and repeat issues to future planning activities.
