The role

Join a leading international insurer in a broad in-house legal role combining insurance regulatory advice, commercial contracts and strategic business support. Working remotely, you'll advise on insurance-specific legal matters, negotiate key commercial agreements and partner closely with senior stakeholders across a growing global organisation.

What you'll do

The role of Legal Counsel will include the following responsibilities:

Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including distribution, introducer, IT and outsourcing contracts.
Provide legal advice on insurance, regulatory and commercial matters across the business.
Support strategic initiatives and new projects with practical, commercially focused legal guidance.
Advise stakeholders at all levels, including senior management, on legal risks and business decisions.
Review and maintain legal and regulatory documentation to ensure ongoing compliance.
Manage relationships with external legal counsel and assist with disputes and claims when required.
Monitor legal and regulatory developments and help assess their impact on the business.

The Successful Applicant

Suitable candidates for for the role of Legal Counsel will have the following qualifications / experience:

Qualified Solicitor in the UK or relevant jurisdiction.
Strong background in commercial contracts, with experience drafting, negotiating and advising on complex business agreements.
Experience gained within the insurance sector or another regulated financial services environment is highly desirable.
Commercially minded lawyer who can provide pragmatic, business-focused legal advice to a range of stakeholders.
Confident operating autonomously while managing a broad and varied workload across commercial, regulatory and strategic matters.
Strong communicator with the ability to build relationships and influence senior stakeholders across the business.
