  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology and MRI techniques, including appropriate cardiac sequences and ECG or physiological monitoring where required.
  • Assess patients before scanning, review relevant clinical history and screening information, identify potential contraindications or risks, and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain MRI safety at all times, including robust safety screening, safe use of the MRI environment and adherence to local procedures and relevant guidance.
  • Undertake contrast-enhanced examinations where indicated, following approved protocols and local policies for patient assessment, administration and management of adverse reactions.
  • Monitor patients throughout the examination, maintaining their safety and wellbeing and responding appropriately to clinical concerns or emergencies.
  • Optimise image quality and ensure images and clinical documentation are accurate, complete and suitable for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Have confidence in communicating with radiologists, cardiologists, referrers and the wider medneo team to support an efficient workflow and a high-quality patient pathway.

  • Knowledge of MRI safety, patient screening, contrast-enhanced imaging and the recognition and escalation of potential adverse events.
  • Excellent patient-care, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to reassure patients who may be anxious or find the examination challenging.
  • A recognised IV cannulation qualification and experience with Siemens MRI systems would be advantageous.
  • Confident understanding of cardiac anatomy and physiology and the clinical indications for cardiac MRI.
