Are you passionate about making a difference for disabled children and their families? Do you want to build meaningful relationships, undertake high-quality statutory social work, and help improve outcomes for some of Lincolnshire's most vulnerable children?

We are looking for newly qualified and experienced Social Workers to join our Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. Based in Lincoln or Sleaford, we are a county-wide service supporting children and young people aged 0-18 with severe and profound disabilities, complex health needs and significant developmental impairments.

As a Level 1 Social Worker in our teams, you'll use your skills, knowledge and experience to manage a range of cases from assessment to ongoing interventions, leading on these from start to finish  - meaning children and families have consistency of Social Workers. You'll work directly with children, young people and their families along with other stakeholders and partners to build a brighter future for the children and families of Lincolnshire. The children and families that we work with face a range of challenges, and if you join our team, your caseload will be extremely varied, allowing you the opportunity and experience to grow as a practitioner and develop your skills and confidence. You'll also co-work more complex caseloads alongside more experienced Social Workers helping you make the right decisions when it matters most.

We believe that all disabled children matter and our aim is to support families with disabled children and young people to have ordinary lives.

Our Social Workers have manageable caseloads and work with children and families on a long term basis building long lasting relationships. As a dedicated Social Worker, you will be responsible for assessing social care needs, support planning and reviewing packages of care. You'll use your knowledge and experience to manage a range of more complex cases, leading on these from start to finish when young people transfer into adult care.

We are a supportive and enabling team so there will also be the opportunity within the role to mentor less experienced staff and to support and take the lead with students on placement in the teams.

Our team undertakes the full range of statutory social work responsibilities, including Child and Family Assessments, Child in Need planning, Child Protection work, Children in Care responsibilities and court proceedings. Working at the intersection of disability, safeguarding and family support, you will have the opportunity to develop specialist skills in areas such as mental capacity, deprivation of liberty, transition planning and complex multi-agency working, while building lasting relationships with children and families.

We pride ourselves on strong multi-agency working with special schools, Continuing Healthcare, CAMHS, community nursing teams, SEND colleagues and our dedicated Occupational Therapy team to provide coordinated support and achieve the best possible outcomes for children.

"Working in this team has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my social work career. We are committed to building meaningful, long-term relationships with children, young people and their families. I particularly enjoy the variety the role offers, including Child in Need, Child Protection, Care Proceedings, Children in Care, Mental Capacity Assessments and Court of Protection work. Manageable caseloads allows us to truly get to know the children and families, produce high quality work and make a real difference to their lives."

Whether you are newly qualified or bringing existing experience, we are looking for passionate and committed Social Workers who share our ambition for disabled children and young people. Experience of working with children with disabilities would be beneficial, but we will provide the training, support and development opportunities needed to build your confidence and expertise. As a county-wide service, successful applicants must be able to travel across Lincolnshire as required.

We know that being a Social Worker can be challenging and often emotional but, we also know from experience that it’s a very rewarding career.  This is why you will be surrounded by a supportive, caring and compassionate team.

You will receive monthly formal professional and case supervision, and take part in regular reflective sessions as a service where scenarios can be brought and discussed using the Signs of Safety framework. Our managers are always on hand and our practitioners say that the informal, ad hoc supervision they receive, plus the support they get from colleagues to test out their thinking, is absolutely invaluable.

Your continued professional development will be as important to us as it is to you, and your learning and development will remain in focus, not just during your annual appraisal. Alongside our excellent in-house training offer, you will also have the opportunity to complete fully funded PQ modules.

Along with a competitive salary of £36,581 - £44,253 we also offer;
